Asher Death Grip Golf Glove

The Death Grip Golf Glove by Asher Golf

Asher has provided a full line-up of gloves that break from the status-quo with alternative prints and edgy designs that show that golf doesn’t have to be a boring game with traditional styling. These gloves are closer in look to snowboarding and motocross gloves while still using good technology to make sure that your golf game is at its finest.

For the golfers that need the specs…

  • New Cooltech™ Breathable Synthetic Leather
  • Super-Tacky Cabretta-Leather Reinforcements
  • Stretch-Fit Lycra® Finger Inserts

If you live where the humidity and temperatures cause you to change gloves once or twice a round – I can certainly recommend this glove. The Cooltech breathable synthetic leather makes these gloves a pleasure to use.  The gloves are light and and will certainly make you stand out from the typical golfer.

This is the glove the next generation will be sporting on tour.

When the sun is out and the humidity is high – I can always appreciate a good performance golf shirt. Performance shirts are either hit or miss – and Sunice appears to have figured out how to consistently make the hits. The X-Static Silver shirts from Sunice Golf Clothing are the best performance shirts I’ve worn and have become my go-to shirts when I know I’m going to be sweating on the course. The shirts do a great job of keeping you cool, wicking away moisture, drying quickly, and looking great in the process.

When it comes to a great summer golf shirt – there’s not much more you can ask for. I’ll admit that I’m a fan of the latest back-to-cotton craze, but there’s times (especially here in hot and humid North Carolina) where cotton is the last thing that you want to be wearing out on the course.

The time I received these shirts was just as I was starting to train for the hundred hole hike. Given that I was building up to walk 100+ holes in a day – I obviously was playing quite a bit of golf. My training routine had me spending 3 days a week on the course and increasing the number of holes I walked by either 9 or 18 on a week-over-week basis. There were plenty of times that I walked 54 or 72 holes in these shirts (in the middle of summer) and the shirts were never less than perfect. On the day of my Hundred Hole Hike, I ended up walking 102 holes and only changed shirts once. The two shirts that you see photographed in this review are the only two shirts that I wore throughout the day. The heat index on the day of my hike exceeded 105 degrees – so I’m not sure how much more I could have asked for really putting these shirts to the test.

I’ve also worn these shirts in the summer rain storms and an unexpected benefit was that they dried out really fast. Any type of slight wind seems to be equivalent to putting these shirts through a dryer cycle. The wicking capabilities of the shirts are amazing. Throughout the summer I would guess that I’ve worn one of these shirts or the other for at least 30 rounds of golf. Even with excessive play, extreme conditions, and plenty of wash/dry cycles – the shirts still look brand new and there’s not a single stitch that has come loose on either one of the shirts. The quality of the x-static line is better than any other manufacturer that I’ve seen.

When all comes down to it, if I had to pick one shirt to wear for all summer, this would be it.

It wasn’t exactly a Van De Veldian finish, but Adam Scott had a major meltdown. He bogeyed the final 4 holes making way for Ernie Els to win his 2nd Open Championship and his 4th major. Els certainly deserved the victory easily playing the best round of anybody near the lead. He didn’t putt well all week, but he definitely made the most important putt on the 72nd hole where he rolled in the birdie to give himself a chance at a possible playoff. Turns out after Scott missed his par putt, it was enough for the victory at the 2012 British Open Championship.

Tiger Woods comes up short yet again at another major with another dismal weekend. Not to worry though, Jack’s record of 18 majors is not even close to being safe. Ernie Els’ win is just more proof that great players can win these major championships in their 40′s and well past what most would consider their prime. I would estimate that Tiger, barring any more serious injuries, will be able to compete in at least 40 more majors. Can he win 5 of them? I think it’s a certainty.
I would like to tip my cap to Oakley Golf ambassador Rory McIlroy for the way he handled the situation with the young man whom he hit with an errant tee shot. I must say I get pretty annoyed when I see these guys hit someone and they just say sorry and here, have this signed glove. This is of course what Rory did and I remember saying to myself that they need to do so much more. Well Rory certainly did the right thing. He tracked the young man down and put him up in a nice hotel and I believe gave a little WAM (walking around money). This was very generous and just shows that Rory McIlroy has matured way beyond his age. I always love to read stories like this from celebrity athletes, it just restores my faith that they are not all prima donnas who don’t care about anything but themselves and think the world revolves around them.
